About

James Wesley Gibson II, affectionately known as JW is a native Memphian, proud father and husband, respected businessman, and with your support the next mayor of our beloved city of Memphis. JW was born and raised in the heart of Memphis, spending much of his early years living in the Dixie Homes Housing Development. JW attended Memphis City Schools and enrolled in the U.S. Navy. Upon graduating from high school, JW then went on to Christian Brothers University to study business.

JW’s adoration for the City of Memphis started when he was a young boy, with his humble beginnings helping to shape a man with genuine concerns for all people, with first hand experience with many of those concerns.

In 1991, JW began the operation of The Premier Group, a medical supply distribution business. During the 1990’s, JW started his involvement in real estate with the formation of Southeast Regional Development Corporation (SRDC). The mission of SRDC is to create opportunities promoting upward mobility and self-sufficiency for residents in urban areas through housing and development. In 2004, JW founded Tec-Print, LLC to provide a broad range of printing services. In 2014 JW launched Jaye Renee Entertainment and became owner of the New Daisy Theater in downtown Memphis.
