Accountability isn’t just a buzzword; it’s a lifeline. Jamie Naylor shares her vision for turning vital services into a stable reality for District 7.

In my daily work at the Hospitality Hub, I don’t deal in theories; I deal in reality. Every day, I look into the eyes of neighbors who are searching for something fundamental: stability. They aren’t asking for the world; they are asking for access to housing, jobs, and healthcare. These are not "extras." They are the vital pillars that every human being needs to move from merely surviving to truly thriving.

As I transition from the nonprofit and private sectors toward the role of County Commissioner for District 7, my mission is clear: we must stop treating stability as a luxury. When a family is housing-insecure, the ripples are felt in our schools, our workforce, and our public safety. As your Commissioner, I will bring the same urgency I feel at the Hub to the Commission chambers.

My background at Morgan Stanley taught me how to manage multimillion-dollar streams, but my work on the ground taught me what those numbers actually represent. We need a "Results-Driven" government. This means moving beyond "after-school programs" as a talking point and moving toward a rigorous oversight model. Every dollar spent must be tied to a measurable outcome. If we fund a pathway to work, we need to know how many neighbors are actually in seats and earning a living wage. This isn't just about being "fiscally conservative"—it’s about being humanly responsible. I am ready to ensure that our budget reflects our values, providing a stable floor so that every Memphian has a fair shot at reaching the ceiling.
