Mark Zuckerberg talks
Big changes coming to facebook
by Alden Zuck
If you are a facebook user, then you’ll want to pay attention to this-
The Facebook News Feed is about to be going under a big make-over. Mark Zuckerberg just recently released this news about the big changes that are coming forth, however, change doesn’t have to be a bad thing.
T he goal behind this transformation is to pull the focus away from ourselves and push it towards connections with other people whether that be personally or professionally. They want to provide an interface that promotes not just random interactions but meaningful ones. In Zuckerberg’s Facebook post (if you haven’t read it yet, you should by clicking here) he says “At its best, Facebook has always been about personal connections. By focusing on bringing people closer together — whether it’s with family and friends, or around important moments in the world — we can help make sure that Facebook is time well spent.”
Facebook has become a place where the main population of users tends to focus on watching funny or informative videos, reading articles, or looking at public posts. It has lost its main focus of bringing people together and creating meaningful and personal interactions. This is why Zuckerberg is beginning this change (yes, the newsfeed is just the beginning, how exciting!) so that he can steer Facebook back in the right direction.
The New facebook
and the effects on small business
So, if they are cutting out more public posts and advertisements, then what does that mean for businesses? Facebook is such a fantastic tool for marketing, and businesses all over the world have been using it effectively for a long time; so are small businesses going to lose this market?
Don’t get too worried just yet, because all this is going to do is force you to create more valuable content and be more personal with the customers that interact with your posts. Business is all about adapting, and now this is the time to hone in on the ad targeting, quality, and tapping into other forms of advertisement. The good news is that nobody fully knows how this will affect ad marketing with Facebook, a.k.a. everybody is in the same boat.
We here at JustMy feel like this is a good thing for business owners. Too many businesses focus on advertising to clients and to consumers. The problem is that we as consumers don’t want to be advertised to. It’s not that we aren’t interested in businesses and community causes, because we are, however we are more interested in the things you do and not the things you want us to buy or donate to. Engage us with things that interest us and get involved in things that we are interested in, then we will remember your name. When we are ready to buy, your connections you have created with your amazing content will be there.
So here is what business owners and local organizations should be thinking about in 2018: Think about telling engaging stories on your websites, your photo sites, your social networks, and in all your communications. Sell us with your “Why”! Why do you do what you do? We know what you sell and how you sell it, but when we connect with your “Why”, we connect with you. Tell us the stories of “why” in 2018 and in turn your sales, your likes, and your shares will all go up.
This change will be great for both personal and professional use of Facebook for several different reasons. this article along with your thoughts on Facebook and see what your community’s thoughts are!
