Memphis, TN – There are some amazing voices and choirs throughout the Memphis area and it’s going to be exciting to have these musical groups bring their best presentation and performance. All the while, the city of Memphis will have a renewed concentration of great uplifting and positive messages via gospel music.  The Sims Financial Group is teaming with M-Town Productions to Present the First Annual Victory Gospel Choir Concert.  This will be the biggest Gospel Concert held in Memphis in decades.

A look at the charities benefiting from this event.

The Sickle Cell Foundation of Tennessee (SCFT) is a 501 (C)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2008, by the late Dr. Trevor K. Thompson and Cherry N.Whitehead-Thompson. As an educator (Administrator with Memphis City Schools) and sickle cell disease consumer, Dr. Thompson championed the call for advocacy, educational support and social services for citizens impacted by sickle cell disease in Memphis, across the state of Tennessee, and in the regions of north Mississippi and eastern Arkansas. His efforts have enabled SCFT to provide educational awareness, through direct contact, via television, radio, print, and social media to more than 1,000,000 citizens across the Mid-South area.

Youth Academy of Dreams (YAOD) is the latest addition to the Kids, Cops & Community initiatives began by Memphis Police Department Sergeant Craig Littles. He is the Founder and Chief Visionary Officer of Memphis Bears Incorporated (MBI), a nonprofit sports program that began in 1996 to assist at-risk youth in the Frayser community. With the help of childhood friends as volunteers, Sgt. Littles began fulfilling his passion and purpose of positively impacting youth.

 

The mission of P.U.R.E. Youth is to provide an individualized residential living, learning and physically active environment with caring adult supervision that holistically serves selected middle/high school young men from under-resourced neighborhoods.  Our vision is to see our served young men become community minded, productive adults.

 

Based in Memphis, TN, The Arc Mid-South is a 501c3 non-profit United Way agency dedicated to empowering people with disabilities to achieve their full potential. We are committed to providing advocacy and services which enable individuals with disabilities to realize their uniqueness, worth, and full inclusion in society. We offer a wide variety of programs and services for individuals with disabilities, such as autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, muscular dystrophy, and other developmental and intellectual disabilities.
