 The Interview!

Lipscomb & Pitts Breakfast Club

The LPBC is a privately funded catalyst for the Mid-South, annually hosting over 150 events and an array of media to engage and impact our community.

In Jeremy’s words

As VP of Communications and a Member of the LLC for Lipscomb & Pitts Insurance, LLC, I oversee a team that handles all marketing, communications, and charitable efforts for the largest independent insurance agency in the Mid-South and one of the largest independent agencies in the nation.

Most people know me, though, for my role as President of the Lipscomb Pitts Breakfast Club (LPBC), which is the community-focused, philanthropic division of the agency that functions as a privately-funded catalyst for the Mid-South. In this role, I direct a team of more than 75 businesses, including some of the world’s largest employers, like FedEx, AutoZone, ServiceMaster, and Smith & Nephew, and host over 150 events each year, focused on enriching and impacting the community.

We transformed the LPBC from a small, simple business networking group into an organization now recognized around the world as an innovator in corporate philanthropy and social entrepreneurialism.

Since 2010 I have been writing the “Giving Back” column, which is published each Sunday in The Commercial Appeal. My book, “Giving Back with Purpose,” was released by Main Street Books in December 2013. The book highlights organizations and individuals who are leading by example and igniting change by giving back and provides a road map for you to create your own legacy of making a difference. Plus, 100% of the proceeds benefit local youth literacy programs.

I am the executive producer and host of the LPBC Radio Show, which airs each Saturday from 1p-2p on News Radio 600 WREC. Also, I am the founder, executive producer, and host of the monthly television series, The SPARK, which airs the third Thursday of each month at 9p on PBS/WKNO-TV, as well as The SPARK Awards, an annual televised awards show. As a guest speaker, I usually talk about our LPBC model and efforts in the community, ways to get engaged, corporate philanthropy, and marketing.

I began my career as Director of Marketing for a Los Angeles-based television production company and oversaw the national launch and marketing of television shows. While in LA, I worked with entertainment icons like Merv Griffin and helped launch companies, like the Motion Picture Hall of Fame.

I have been blessed to fulfill my dreams of playing tennis around the world and served as the Head Tennis Pro at Beverly Hills Country Club. As a singer/songwriter, I have had songs placed in movies and have been able to act in movies and national commercials, including one that premiered during the Super Bowl. As lead singer of a signed rock/pop band, I had a chance to live out my childhood dreams of playing on stages at festivals and in venues around the nation.

My wife, Meredith, and I have two boys and are now focused on making the Mid-South even better tomorrow than it is today.
