Matthew Brewer has been in the Memphis area since 2003, and in that time, he has been no stranger to the wonderful southern cuisine found here in the Mid-South.  He graduated from West Liberty State College, received his masters from University of Louisiana at Monroe, and his D.Min from Andersonville Theological Seminary.  He is employed by Shelby County Schools as a PLC Coach, pastors Grace Gathering Church, and in his spare time, does marketing for his Wife, Jennifer’s custom Jewelry Company, Jentegrity Jewelry, located in Cordova.  He enjoys spending time with his wife, quiet evenings at home, dinners with friends, and lots of family time.

Celeste is a non-traditional student who decided to continue her Undergraduate at Southwest Tennessee Community College while balancing work and home life. She’s currently pursuing an Associates of Science in Teaching K-5th grade with an emphasis in ESL and Minor in Spanish. Celeste loves being involved in student life at Southwest by joining Honor Societies, Study Abroad programs, as well as the Student Newspaper. She started as a reporter, became Deputy Editor and is currently Editor-in-Chief of The Southwest Source.

Britney Thornton is a native Memphian from Orange Mound.  Licensed social worker, licensed educator, and former law student. Britney has found her passion as a community organizer.  A graduate from Baylor University and the University of Pennsylvania, she enjoys eating good food and traveling to new countries.  Founder of the non-profit JUICE Orange Mound, Britney challenges systems of oppression by thinking of new and creative ways to address old issues.  Innovative, personable, and driven, Britney is determined to redevelop not only the beloved community of Historic Orange Mound but also the great city of Memphis, Tennessee.

Theresa woodard

A native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Dr. Woodard moved to Tennessee roughly five years ago.  After serving Brownsville and surrounding communities of Tennessee as an Internal Medicine Clinician and Hospitalist, Dr. Woodard founded TWMed Consulting, LLC to follow her passion in wellness and disease prevention.  Eighteen years of medical practice only reinforced her passion regarding patient advocacy, education, and empowerment to make the changes each can, to live healthier, longer lives. She serves multiple sclerosis patients for in home medical therapy throughout western TN.  She served on the Technical Advisory Group for the Tennessee Health Care Innovation Initiative, advising on diabetes and pancreatitis.  As a physician, her career has allowed her to serve as medical director, medical panelist, hospitalist, clinician, mayoral advisor, health consultant specialist, public speaker, health blogger and wellness educator.
She was honored to be the 2016 commencement speaker for the graduates of Heath-Tech Institute of Memphis, where she currently serves on the Board of Directors.  She also currently represents the state of Tennessee in the Delta Regional Authority’s 2018 Delta Leadership Institute.
Dr. Woodard’s health consulting business offers services to individuals, healthcare practices, corporations and other organizations interested in growing their employee wellness programs.  TWMed Consulting facilitates wellness counseling, medical lab reviews, corporate seminars, workshops, lunch and learns, and tailor-made wellness education sessions for each client’s needs.  Although striving to serve more companies within Tennessee, her clients span across the nation.
Her time and resources are also donated to other charities and non-profits such as Mentoring Youth Through Technology (MYTT), Healthy Life Sports Camp, and Memphis Women in Technology (MWiT). She volunteers with various organizations, addressing issues of health and wellness, fitness, STEM education, cultural diversity, bullying in school, cyberbullying, building self-esteem and self-identification, sleep hygiene, stress management and others.  She believes in helping others and wishes to grow her Health Consulting business, TWMed Consulting, here in Tennessee.

Destiny Royston

Destiny is a native Memphian and an aspiring journalist. She graduated from Overton High School with an Honors in Creative Writing. She attends Southwest Tennessee Community College where she will receive her Associate’s in English. Destiny will later transfer to the University of Memphis to receive an B.A. in Journalism with a minor in Public Relations. She strengthens her writing skills by reporting for her college’s Student Newspaper and by freelance reporting at The New Tri-State Defender.

Carol has 3 littles and a big little as a life partner. They shook things up back in 2016 and decided to move to the Memphis area from Dallas, Texas. Although a Texan through and through, Memphis has also taken a big chunk of her heart. She has been a personal trainer, nutrition coach, software developer and one of her other passions which she is currently pursuing is being a consultant for small businesses and helping them with their digital marketing and online presence. A collector of Marvel comic books, who maintains a love and hate relationship with distance running, loves lifting weights, and most recently can be found getting slightly frustrated hitting a golf ball at a local golf course since she has picked up golf as well. When she isn’t busy running around doing something active with her husband and littles, she can be found helping a local business improve their digital footprint.

Stand Beside Her

Created by Girl Scouts Heart of the South, headquartered in Memphis, TN, the National Stand Beside Her Movement is a call to action initiative to mentor, support and develop women and girls; to end comparison and competition and create more collaboration and support for one another. The Stand Beside Her Movement culminates each year during the last week of October with National Side Beside Her Week to encourage people to commit to supporting girls and women in their lives, their home, their office and in their community. Stand Beside Her also hosts Stand Beside Her Memphis – a group of women and girl serving organizations in the Greater Memphis Area working together to carry out the Stand Beside Her mission on a local level.
