Now I could start with my personal opinion but let me give a 5 star review by an auxiliary party.

YAMS Review: A Cougar’s Passion Stage Play
Bravo! I have to say it again “BRAVO!” Today was the debut for the hit stage play A Cougar’s Passion that opened at Circuit Playhouse in Overton Square here in Memphis. The title alone tells you what the story is about, that is if you know what the “term” Cougar means when it comes to relationships.

A Cougar is an older woman dating a man half her age or younger. Grawwwlll! So often women find themselves unexpectedly falling for a young, fine and sexy man who can fill her sexual desires while she nurtures his ambitions and dreams. A Cougar’s Passion tells this story of lust, lacking and longing between two people and all of the complexities of age, sex, lust, love and family.

This was first stage play written, directed and produced by Ellen Butterflyy-Allen that was adapted from her book with the same title and it was an amazing story full of surprise plot twists and superb acting. The excellent and talented performers on stage tonight proves that Memphis is definitely the NEW HOLLYWOOD! I can’t wait to see the next production from Ellen Butterflyy-Allen. A Cougar’s Passion is just the beginning for this talented and gifted writer.

I am truly grateful an appreciative for all that this journey has afforded me, mainly the opportunity to meet so many wonderful and amazingly supportive as well talented people. February 23, 2019 was phenomenal, A Cougar’s Passion the stage production surpassed all my expectations. Shoutouts go to Circuit Playhouse’s Bailee Michaels, what great show of professionalism coupled with enthusiasm a million thanks you from our production team you rock!! Next it is with tears if overwhelming gratitude that I shout-out my motivated and passionate Director Marsha “Sublime Sunshine ” Davis, she is for hire, however she belongs to ACP 2019 forever. The magic she envisioned and executed on stage speaks to her visionary qualities. Our wardrobe manager Tamera “ATK” Kelly played such an impressive role with helping these actors command the stage with 2 acts, 16 scenes and 15 wardrobe changes she flexed her organizational and time management skills well, bravo! Words escape when I shoutout my extremely hard-working cast, a team like no other, let me see how can I give homage? Forever enamored to leading lady, Lakesh Hollingshed, leading man, Jalen Moffitt, lead support actresses AD Payne and Latoya Parker, lead support actor James Cole along with our support team, Shanice Davis, Edward Lee McDaniel, Diane McGhee and Tony Xavier.

Production wise this was extraordinary for a first time production team made up of all females who had to build a set from scratch within 5 days patting g ourselves on the back, yes!

We had great support, being that I am the new kid on the theatrical block. Yes I would like to see packed auditoriums however that comes with time and exposure, making a name for ourselves is what motivates Memphians and we at A Cougar’s Passion are here for it.
Of Course we would like to do it again and again and again, we have to figure out the logistics, sponsorship and timing so for now it’s not goodbye but see you later.~Butterflyy
