Our idea is to improve the sustainability and innovativeness of agricultural development by training at-risk, impoverished individuals on the use of drones to collect data about crops and soil. Our programs will spark interest in choosing occupations in the use of drone technology and agricultural engineering as rewarding career choices.
"The idea is unconventional because it will select the most unlikely-to-be-successful youths (at-risk; impoverished) and teach them drone technology and engineering concepts that they can learn and apply to real-world agricultural and other problems while developing associated skills in drone photography, data collection and storage. Technology and a digital platform will be used to promote positive social change; overcome structural and historic barriers; and change predominant assumptions about individuals in poverty and what they can accomplish."
