Sanjeev Memula grew up in Shelby County.  He graduated high school from Memphis University School in 1992.  Sanjeev then went on to graduate college from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.  His lifelong dream was to become an attorney, so after his graduation from college, he got his law degree from University of Missouri Kansas City School of Law in May 1999.

     Sanjeev Memula then decided to return to his hometown that he loved so much.  In October 1999, on his first try, Sanjeev passed the bar examination and was licensed in the State of Tennessee.  In January 2000. he clerked for the Shelby County Public Defender's Office .  The Public Defender's Office hired him in August 2000 as an Assistant Public Defender for Shelby County.  Over 20 years later, Sanjeev remains at the Public Defender's Office , because he is dedicated to serving and helping the residents of Shelby County.  During his time at the Public Defender's Office, he has handled criminal cases from arrest to jury trials,  His experience is what guides his values and perspectives.

     Sanjeev Memula is licensed  in the State of Tennesee and is admitted to practice before the Federal District  Court in Memphis.  He is a member of Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Memphis Bar Association.
