Forrest Spence Fund
The Forrest Spence Fund is an official 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that was founded in 2007 in memory of Robert Forrest Spence. The mission of the Fund is to assist with the non-medical needs of critically or chronically ill children and their families throughout the Mid-South.
In honor of Forrest, the organization strives to support families dealing with similar difficult situations and to give back to regional children’s hospitals like Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, Children’s Hospital at Erlanger in Chattanooga, Baptist Women’s Memorial Hospital, and St. Jude Children’s Hospital, where the amazing medical staff fights for thousands of children each year.
cityCURRENT is a privately-funded catalyst for the Mid-South and Middle Tennessee. A team of more than 100 partner companies have come together to host FREE events, along with an array of positive-oriented media and philanthropic initiatives to enrich, engage and impact the community. I was sitting down with a friend who works in sales at FedEx a few years ago and I brought up the question of Amazon replacing FedEx as a dominant player in shipping. My friend said that would never happen. FedEx isn’t worried about Amazon. At that time Amazon Prime was new. Amazon had just purchased a fleet of jets and trailers for shipping. A look at Amazon’s past was like the handwriting on the wall for me.
Recently I actually stood before a crowd of people, some skeptics and some believers, and announced that I want to be a public servant for you.
On MLK Day, Artizan Constructors teamed up with local businesses and non-profits to give a 90-year-old woman a home makeover.
This week at Club 152 on Beale Street there was a health fair. Wait, a health fair in a bar? Yes and that is because this was no ordinary health fair, it was a health fair being put on for Blues artists coming to town from around the world.
