MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Pure Foods Corp., a specialty snack food company with global headquarters located in Kingsport, Tennessee, celebrated the recent opening of its flagship facility by gifting a custom shipment of snacks to the YMCA of Memphis & the Mid-South.

Pure Foods specializes in integrating carefully sourced, non-GMO fresh fruits, vegetables and whole-kernel corn into tortilla-style chips and puffs that retain up to 95 percent of the foods’ original nutritional value. The company’s signature line, Chicpea & Lentille, packs the power of chickpeas and lentils into cheeze puffs that are a good source of protein, and are 50 percent higher in fiber and 50 percent lower in fat than comparable snacks.

“We’re very excited about the opening of our Tennessee facility,” says John Frostad, president and CEO of Pure Foods. “As part of that celebration, we wanted to deliver the first products off the line to the YMCA, an organization that shares our commitment to healthy communities.”

The YMCA is the nation’s leading nonprofit organization, committed to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living andsocial responsibility. The organization provides a range of services focused on well-being and fitness, sports, child care, and activities for all ages, teens through seniors.

Parents will appreciate Pure Foods’ allergen-controlled manufacturing environment and list of all-natural ingredients. In particular, Chicpea & Lentille brand cheeze puffs contain zero saturated fat or cholesterol, are certified non-GMO, gluten-free, dairy-free, suitable for vegan diets, and made without artificial flavorings, colorings or preservatives.

“Our great flavors come from quality ingredients, not from synthetic additives,” Frostad says. “We love the YMCA’s vision of a healthier Tennessee, and hope all the members will enjoy these fun snacks.”
