Life Experience
Tell us about your trip to the last Olympics and some of your experience there?

Unexplainable experience, it was just an honor to be a part of a wonderful team, visiting another country and meeting so many different cultures.  It was a surreal experience.  All that I could think of was, “We all have a mission, and it takes a team to get it done.”  The first part of the race in a bobsled for a brakeman, is the “Drive phase”, after the drive phase, we then jump into the sled at max velocity. From there, we keep our heads down and hold on tight. At the end, we break just after the finish line.  This is how life works, we all have our own Olympics.  If we drive with everything that we have, jump in at max velocity keeping our eye on our goal, holding on tight and pushing through, even when we grow weary, we will soon have our victory. As we are able to let off of the gas after crossing the finish line.

Share how you are using your athletic training to dominate in your professional life

I’m a competitor at heart, and I love a challenge, where it be in the gym, or out in the community.  My competitive nature translates over into the professional world, because it has taught me to keep pushing no matter what.  Go even harder when the odds aren’t looking so bright. And no matter what, I never give up until my mission is complete.

Meet Sable Otey

In life, no one is going to go harder for you than you.  Keep reaching for your goals, keep believing in yourself, live life with no limitations. No one can tell you who you can’t be, you have the power over what and who you will become.

Goals
Why do you decide on Financial Planning?

This journey as an athlete, and throughout life in general, was a valuable lesson. I learned that my life was out my hands. I never had accountability of my finances. Wealthy people are very strategic, and they long-term plan. I never thought that way until I had unexpected emergencies in my life.

Talk to us about fitness for youths and why it is so important to you

Growing up as an athlete in Binghampton, I wasn’t privileged to have the equipment or post injury training. I use to practice and go to track meets hurt. I believe that kids need to know the proper way to train while they’re young.  The only way out for many of the children in our community is through sports, and my goal is to teach them right the first time. Sharing with them, all of the training experiences that I’ve acquired from an array of Olympic training programs and coaches.

What advice do you have for the community on taking control of your life and your story?

You have to be clear about what you want. Find out the steps that need to be taken, and get it done. I have a no matter what attitude with everything that I do. So, I give everything I have; 120 percent. Once I realized that there was no limit of maximizing me, I started to go even harder. In life, no one is going to go harder for you than you.  Keep reaching for your goals, keep believing in yourself, live life with no limitations. No one can tell you who you can’t be, you have the power over what and who you will become.
