Local businessman, Patrick Trey Carter III, has been named one of the top 35 Millennial Influencers in the Country by the Next Big Thing Movement. Carter is the only Memphian and Tennessean to be included on the 2018 list, and on March 10 th he will be honored alongside peers at the Next Big Thing Movement’s annual Forward Conference in New York City, NY.  The Next Big Thing Movement is a global, non-profit organization that supports and recognizes millennials who are change agents and difference makers. Its network includes over 20,000 young professionals and creatives and the organization serves as a social movement and platform that encourages collaborative efforts that helps guide young professionals to success, turning their passion into provision. Programs are focused on connecting individuals of different ethnicities and socioeconomic levels and different stages in their respective career journeys.

 

A second-generation entrepreneur, Carter carries forth the legacy of his father as the President of Olympic Career Training Institute (OCTI). OCTI is a logistics and distribution training company certified by the Department of Labor, the Veterans Affairs Administration and TN Higher Education Commission as a post-secondary school headquartered in Memphis, TN.

Outside of his career, Carter is also active in the Memphis community as a civic leader and served as a Commissioner on the Shelby County Emergency Communications District, and on several boards including the Greater Memphis Chamber of Commerce and the Autozone Liberty Bowl Patriots Club.
