Cooper Young Announces Young Art Contest Winners

The Cooper Young Business Association is proud to announce this year’s winners of the 2018 Young Artist Contest.  This post-festival event is held annually to encourage the love of art in school age children residing in the Mid-South.  The CYBA received 290 entries for the contest which had a theme of “Historically Hip Cooper Young.”  Reception for winners and artists will be held at Peabody Elementary located at 2086 Young Avenue on Thursday, November 1, 2018 from 6:00 – 7:00 pm.  Award Ceremony begins at 6:30 pm.

This contest is open to children, all over Memphis and surrounding communities, grades 1-12 and is sponsored by Sprouts Farmers Market.  All entries will be on exhibit for viewing in the cafeteria of Peabody School on the night of the reception. Prizes will be awarded in the following categories: Three $250 First Place, Three $100 Second Place, Three $75 Third Place, and Three $50 Honorable Mention; one each for grades 1st – 4th, grades 5th – 8th, and grades 9th – 12th.  This is a free, family-friendly art show open to the public.   We encourage everyone to come and enjoy the talent of these fine young artists.  Refreshments will be available.
